I normally use the following commands to connect my desktop machine running vector linux to my psion 5ms running debian 3.0 (arm port). over a serial null-modem cable.
On the Desktop

pppd -detach local noauth lock 10.0.2.1: /dev/ttyS0 115200 &

and on the psion

pppd -detach local noauth lock 10.0.2.2: /dev/ttyAM1 115200 &

and the connection works no problem.
However when I try the same on my laptop (running Puppy 1.06) I get the following line repeated:

sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x7861d7bb> <pcomp> <accomp>]

and no connection. Has anyone any ideas what the problem is here? This is the first time Puppy has failed me and I would dearly like to rectify it.
