Cbonpup
I loaded it up in a VM, and I haven't run into any major problems except for possibly one. Did you intend to remove the JWM menu? I have the taskbar and a menu button, but the menu only contains an entry for shutting down. If that was your intention, then I think you need more shortcuts on the desktop.
I was able to connect to the internet and this is being posted from Cbonpup now. You might consider updating to the latest 2.xx release of Firefox (I think there was a newer one than 2.0.0.7).
Without the menu I can't get at a lot of stuff (at least not easily), so my test has to stop here.

It has a urlclassifier3.sqlite now doing 16Mb. Any way to solve this ?
And libxul.so is 13Mb.

I am working on next version 0.4, I guess based on puppy 4.3.
I plan to add gcc + make, but it will make iso of size 200Mb, so not good for slow pcs, but I take the risk.
I plan to remove flash, you will have to download it manually if needed.
I also plan to remove all programs, except the minimum needed.
Do you have other propositions ?

You think 16 Mb is big? I've seen that file at 50+ Mb. It's like a tumor - it keeps growing until you get fed up and delete it, then it grows back!linuxcbon wrote:Firefox is a bad guy.

To make it behave, you must make a sacrifice. Go to Edit->Preferences->Security and uncheck the "Block reported attack sites" and "Block reported web forgeries" options. Then delete the urlclassifier3.sqlite file. It may come back, but it will be small and shouldn't grow anymore.
(Actually, in all seriousness I think it tops out at 55 Mb. The file is a database of "bad" sites, as chosen by Google. It is downloaded from them slowly over time, thus the growing until it is complete. It will probably then continue to grow slightly here and there as Google adds to the list.)
