yes you can take it.
It is an almost empty file, and newer versions of Puppy "convert" it automatically to their needs.

Thanks! Got it.

New challenge: Puppy 1.0.6, same as 1.0.5, locks up when it gets to selecting the keyboard layout. The keyboard is suddenly completely inaccessible (it works fine up to that point).

HP Pavilion ze4600 laptop.

Thanks! doc

As an alternative one could use a larger pup001 file. MU has some different sizes of pup001 available. Also, FYI, the most that a pupxxx file should be is just under 1 GB.

It is locking up the keyboard so there is no way to get at the menu.lst file.

BTW: Where is this file? I cannot see it on the CD nor do I find it on my 1.0.4 HDD install.

I don't know what bootloader uses menu.lst, but, edoc, see the boot parameters wiki page for more info.

"The standard release of Puppy Linux 1.0.7 uses a boot menu ..."

Does anyone know how one would edit this "boot menu" prior to booting
1.0.7 , please?
