Puppy Security versus Windows

#1 Post by benali72 »

I see lots of posts about Puppy security versus Windows.

As shipped, of course, Windows is not particulary secure.

This 40-page free guide shows everything you have to do to secure Windows....

It's quite a list, and more than the average Windows user thinks of, I would guess. In contrast, with Puppy, just turn on the firewall and implement a few of the tips in these threads, and you're done.

You can read about Puppy and Linux security here:

There also a good security checklist for Linux, right here  :

Thanks, clarf, for the pointer to the Linux security doc from Sans Institute.

Excellent summary of Linux security, I'm learning a lot from it.

Just don't worry about it atm. If you're really security freak, there's multiuser puplet based on 4.2.1
