Puppy Linux Gallery Poll

EDIT: Voting finished, new gallery is MG2 and url is renamed to /gallery

So you might know I got puppy subdomain on my new hosting and want to add some gallery for wallpapers and other artwork, I tried two so far, vote for one you prefer or suggest some other php gallery.
I'd like something light weight and possibly PHP/flat-file based.
I have coppermine gallery installed for my photo album but that's really huge and has somewhat weird look forum-like and requires a database

First gallery I installed is phpAlbum.net, check here: http://puppy.b0x.me/gallery/
Works good, but doesn't allow hotlinking

Second one: http://puppy.b0x.me/gallery3/
MG2 gallery, works good, seems themable, loads faster

I think I'm one of the first to vote dejan, so this is of course just my opinion. But I tend to lean towards the simple look of the second one. Of course, the functionality will probably be a bigger factor since you can change themes, and you would know this part best.

But at first look, I voted for the second one with the pin-board look... 8)

I Think it is important to have logos in vector format (like SVG) other than in PNG transparent

Hmm, I'll have to check if gallery supports svg. I do have two puppy logos one is svg and other is png I think but it's huge 4.5 MB really big res like 3600x3600 , it's somewhere on forum :)

My vote's for the second option, the gallery3 Dejan. Course, that's just purely for looks value, don't know what's easier for you. The second one also seems to go better with the Puppy style. Thanks for what you do Dejan, I've been enjoying your Puppy Look site, makes it way easier to find icon themes and wallpapers.

I voted for the second option as well. I frequently visit your site too, lots of nice eyecandy there. :)

Hey guys, thanks all for comments and voting, I asked also in #puppylinux channel and second one is what most people like so I'll probably stick with that one but don't stop your voting still, I want some more juicy comments! :D

@trapster:

How about that one: http://puppy.b0x.me/gallery/index.php?id=185  8)

I voted the second one... while it looks better it is also faster (for me at least  )

Exemplary work again Dejan.

Cheers

Yes, speed is one more feature that's noticeable for second gallery.

Thank you. :D

K, I'm renaming second one to /gallery so it will be that one only and someone already striped the poll out of topic. You can as well close topic now. ;)

Bringing up this topic because of issues with mg2 gallery.
It's sweet and light gallery and good looking too but it has problems with database now that it has many pictures and subalbums get messed up. Too bad that development is discontinued and I couldn't find any improved forks of it. I found this comparison of php galleries here:
http://noscope.com/journal/2005/04/photoalbum-cms

So I think I'll switch to zenphoto as it's more stable and supported.

Yeah I'll be testing zenphoto and some themes these days, it does feel bit slower which is understandable because it uses mysql and it's a full featured gallery software but when I decide what theme to use I'll set it up and keep the old one backed up. It will also be some clean theme with light background something similar to what we have now.

OK zenphoto seemed pretty slow so I googled more and found a fork of previously used mg2 minigal gallery that is pretty recent, latest version is from january 2011 and is supposed to be more stable (I knew someone must have continued working on it, it's too good to be abandoned).
Fork is called kh_mod it's here:
http://www.minigal.de/

Transfering images was some work though I must tell you guys you're doing excellent work with those graphics, see it tells this in my admin panel:
Puppy Linux Gallery: 304 image(s) 69.29 MBytes, 6 folders + Root

And I still haven't finished importing images plus there are more on forums that I haven't uploaded there.
