Another little discovery I made:

the xterm link in /usr/bin points to urxvt, which dpup does have, but it is pretty bland. If that's by choice, that's ok, but would there be any problem with this link pointing to mrxvt-full?

Thanks in advance.

SFS files shouldn`t have to be specially made for linking.
However I`ve never completely been satisfied about this.
I don`t know a lot about app. packages and their build.

His simple linker is good, we really need a manager GUI.
One that will load, unload, and set to load at bootup.

Perhaps jrb could tell us what he`s done and found out.

Could this linker replace the boot manager?

I printed a document from a website with CUPS-PDF
When I want to view it, ePDF loads it but closes immediately.
Anybody experiencing this?

I didn't use CUPS-PDF but I have a bus schedule in PDF format that does this, a different PDF loads OK.

PostPosted: Thu 03 Dec 2009, 19:44    Post subject: GIMP

I translate for a French poster.
So I am not experiencing the problem myself and have to go back to the French OP.
For those who know French his message is here.

I uninstalled Gimp version 2.4.0-rc3 and installed version 2.6.6 as per the puppy 5 repo.
He gets:
Code:
"missing libraries
libpoppler-glib.so.4
libavformat.so.so.51
libavcodec.so.51
Gimps is in the graphic menu, but doesn't execute
How/where can I get the missing libraries?
And where do I have to store them?

Installation 'frugal' of 'dpup-482-beta 5
I find it runs really better then beta 4...

PC laptop ACER Travelmate 4400, 1600Mhz, 1,3 G RAM

Thank you to help him.

Beem; This GUI would be for mounting (loading) non-union SFS files.
Puppy`s boot manager mounts and unions SFS files, standard use...

Béèm, could you let yor French tester know that the gimp from ibiblio he was using is probably the Upup version, use the Dpup version...http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pet_packages-5/gimp-2.6.3-i486-dpup.pet

Cheers
Guy

yarddog, sorry I haven't got to this sooner,

1.) with pcp3, you click the label button underneath the icon
2.) gnumeric patch below will fix the problem you are having.
3.) With console, you hold down the left mouse button and scroll through menus and sub-menus
