Sneeky Made a new vid !!! BUT let me explain , The layered sky is a wallpaper , not a full theme. If you put the .edj file in /.e/e/themes you can load it under themes but it will have the default black/white theme for everything else. It should go in /.e/e/backgrounds and then loaded under wallpapers BUT go under advanced and set it for one desktop only .

that background :

This is a really cool wallpaper also:

Well runt, I finally decided to blow away Xandros 4 and after a lot of live Puppy puplet USB runs. Decided to Install Macpup to internal 4 gig SSD. Left 16 gig home SSD alone. Will Edit it later to adapt to Macpup.

Tried Frugal Install. Wouldn't boot no matter how many different ways I tried to install grub. Full install with that grub menu entry seemed best option for me.

Touchpad works. Not to concerned with Hotkeys yet. Been at installing grub half the evening but got it right. Thanks for all your help and quick responses to my questions. I might have one or two later but that won't be till after New Years. I will donate and you and yours have a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. Happy Trails, Rok

Macpup Foxy 3.0 and PET MAKER PLUS - V 1.7-3 for 4.xx series

#87 Post by paule »

Has anyone been able to get Pet Maker Plus to work under Macpup Foxy 3.0? I have tried all the versions of Pet Maker and SFS Installer in order to be able to install an .sfs file I would like to use with my Macpup machine (full install), but so far no joy. Pet Maker Plus works fine on another machine using Puppy 4.21 (Turbopup).

Any suggestions? thanks in advance.

cheers, Paul

1. Open a terminal and run dir2pet . Works great for me.

2. Copy the .sfs ,make sure it is a 430.sfs, to mnt/home and use the puppy boot manager to load it . Or mount the .sfs and copy all the files and stuff over to your system.

I don't see how this helps, as one has to have a directory to convert.

Unfortunately the sfs conversion utilities do not seem to work with Macpup, and since I am using a full install, the boot manager will not load it. Also the Rox implimentation will not mount the .sfs files so that they can be unpacked, and moved as you suggest.

Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

cheers, Paul

@paule :

pet maker ? what are you trying todo ? convert directory, or any other? if directory to convert the answer is dir2pet, if anything else and you dont have any directory to convert, its was useless.

if you trying to install sfs (must same version with puppy), all you need just klik on sfs and it will be mounted, then you can try copyed them to root (/) not /root.

if u use sfs deferent then macpup, u can use other puppy to open then copy to the directory . the rest is same as above.

I am trying to Install OxygenOfficePro301.sfs. I can easily install it in puppy 4.2.1, but the same utilities which work in puppy 4.3 do not work with MacPup Foxy 3. I am hoping to use Oxygen Office as it has a number of templates which are not available in the regular Open Office 3.. When I click on an .sfs it is not mounted, and I get an error message saying it is of the wrong type. Unfortunately all of the utilities available to convert it to the correct version also do not work in MacPup Foxy 3. It appears that something in MacPup causes utilities which work in normal puppy 4.3 not to work.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

cheers, Paul

why u just try open on 421 first and mounting. then copyed to a new directory. after that ucan chose to make it pet with dir2pet, or let as directory, so u can manualy copy to root folder on macpup.

Where did you get the OxygenOfficePro301.sfs ?

And Fox 3 is built on the 4.3.0 that ttuuxxx built ,not a regular 4.3

I picked up the OxygenOfficePro301 sfs file in the thread a while back when the links were maintained. As I understand it the original poster is tied up with other things right now.

Any thoughts on how ttuuxxx's build differs from the regular 4.3? How do the differences affect the utilities mentioned above?

Hi Pri,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this utility doesn't work either. When you right click on the .sfs file to install it, you get a cannot mount error.

Your running a full install right? Try booting up the live cd and run it in ram .Then try mounting the .sfs and see what happens.
