pupRadio (with pupTelly)
I am running pupradio in lupu 520 first of all.
I selected gnome-mplayer as my player.
When I select pup telly tab and then select one of the bookmarked entries and select play, the selection does not play and the terminal shows an error of "-fs" not supported check ghome-mplayer -h for help.
When I select mplayer and try the same stream, it plays full screen, but complains about the cache not filling.
I can live with switching back and forth between players, but thought you might want to know.
Also, I do not know how to check if the cache is enabled and how big it is using mplayer.
I should mention that the Presets seem to work ok though with either player although when mplayer is selected, the cache still fails to fill.
I am back with more!
When I type in "gnome-mplayer [tv url] in a terminal, the cache fills and works.
When I do the same using mplayer in a terminal, the cache fails to fill.
Found this tidbit doing a web search:
For jerky video
mplayer -cache 8912 -cache-min 4 dvd://1
This means that you will have an 8MB cache, which should be plenty for a dvd. It will also fill the cache to 4% before starting, and the buffer should build up from there.

Thanks for report 8-bit
Indeed if you select a bookmarked item it invokes the "-fs" option which not all players understand, I'll get onto that very soon.
I'm not sure about the cache filling issues.. probably a bit beyond the scope here as many players are supported.

Mick,
neither v0.7 nor v0.8 have the fix that makes pupRadio layout look nice in XOpup.
Any chance will be in v0.9 so we could update?

These stations used to work with PupRadio and for some reason, they do not now.
When I select one of them and select "Play Bookmark" with "gnome-mplayer" as the player, the initial loading buffer window shows and then about another two times and then the window closes with no results.
Also, STOP does not kill the attempt to connect.
I am enclosing the tbookmark list I have and want to know if you have any better luck.
I tried running from a terminal and saw no feedback as to errors, but at one time, I did see a segmentation fault.

I cant get pupradio to play any streams with vlc (a no gui version)..
not sure why, not really posting any bugs, will have to look into it..
It's strange, cos I am playing these BBC stations fine in VLC, not using pupradio, they wont work, only in terminal and VLC-GTK:
"http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/meta/ ... _au_nb.asx"
pupradio doesnt output anything to the terminal, and i cant find the problem, all should be fine.
Also, on a nicer note, here's a GREAT radio site, that has loads free stuff...
I found 24 hour jazz, dance, hip hop, news, classical, rock, etc:

Hi sc0ttman
I'm posting an update right now, there is a fair bit of code change as to not suppress errors/stdout but still keep xerrs.log fairly clean. That may help you to debug.

Hi 01micko,
I'm running 5.28 (frugal) and am having trouble installing the latest. I initially tried installing while the previous was still onboard, then removed the original and retried again. Either way results in a "failed to install" error. Is there a simple enough fix? Thanks.
Edit >> Not to worry.. I dropped back an image and have the old one working again. [s]I'd still like to know if you know, what might be preventing me from installing this latest one or where I might look for an answer[/s].. On second thought, I'll ask up top about this petget bit.
Edit >> Got it! The terminal error was:
Discovering truncate's part of the coreutils pkg, this is what had me bite'n the bullet- repos showing v7.4. A quick removal had petget back in the saddle. Figured I'd go ahead and remove Precord then test another version of coreutils.. and going up didn't help. What finally worked was the older 6.10-6 from Lenny (which I think what Lucid's based on).
If you're reading this Lobster- perhaps now you'll know. I see you went through this some time back..

Well it shouldn't! It may pay to back up your saved files first, they are in /root/.pupradio (hidden file), just copy the whole directory to a safe place or copy it as a different name.chrome307 wrote:Thanks for this update
Can you let me know if this will overwrite my existing bookmarks/urls?
I am using Lucid 5.28 currently, which build was used for the OS and is an update to the version included in 5.28?
Thanks
