#1 Post by PuppyLinuxisgay »

is there a version of puppy linux that doesnt crash, besides browserlinux? maybe someone should ask what the creator of browserlinux did to stabilize the browsin experience.

Puppy linux is also very happy and maybe, just maybe, you should ask yourself whether walking around with your head buried in the darkest depths of your own anus is actually a pleasant browsin(sic) experience.

version

You must have stumbled upon un-updated version. Use 4.2.1 or 4.3.1 for updated versions.

Puppy crashes

#7 Post by jliverman »

I've been trying Puppy Linux on a Dell Dimension 4300S (P4 1.6 GHz & 256M DRAM) with a post-factory RaLink RT2500 PCI wireless card (connecting to a WEP128 wireless network).

Both Puppy 431 & Nearly-Office-Pup (NOP) 431 result in Seamonkey & Opera crashing consistently on my machine. If starting Seamonkey from the terminal (via mozstart or seamonkey), all it provides is line 131: [PID] Killed, with the "$prog" ${1+"$@"}" syntax. Of course this was standard 431 burned from an ISO...nothing special.

However, I switched to upup 476 (jaunty) and this problem stopped completely!!

I have heard that this is an issue with the Adobe Flash Player. 431 appears to use Flash10, while upup 476 is using Flash9 (9.0.124.0 to be exact). I am not sure how correct this assertion is.

I just thought I would let the community know about my experience. Forgive me if any of this is common knowledge.
