MED Look - Taxi Edition v1

#1 Post by psiwoods »

DESCARGA

El enlace de descarga es este:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2xbfewd75b9

Hello, psiwoods

I have not been successful to access the download page.

Could you upload it elsewhere? such as puppylinux.ca or puppylinux.asia..

Gracias.

I first thought, it is a spanish iso.
Extracting the pet I saw, that it is a collection of utilities to get the beautifull customized desktop from the screenshots.
So you have all the required grafics files to get this great look.
And the programs, like the xfce windowmanager "xfwm4", lxpanel, and the filemanager pcmanfm.
Also the dependencies are included.

I did not yet install it yet, as it would overwrite some files in newyearspup.

But I will try to make a pet of it, for NYP, in the next days.

I did not install the pet, but extracted and adapted it for NYP:

I noticed, that /usr/share/applications/xfwm4-settings had to be renamed to xfwm4-settings.desktop.

Mucas gracias for this great addon :!: :D

Hello people of puppy forum

I present to MED-Look Taxi v1.

Look What is MED?

Some already know Look MED (if not then read what follows).

For those who do not know Look MED is an attempt to improve the appearance of the most beautiful puppy doing a normal desktop without eating too many PC. resources

A view like this ... we have Linux desktop environments basiacmente 2 types. KDE (too heavy and also need no puppy thousand libraries that brings), GNOME (here because they're closer like puppy all the applications are based on gtk +, but still very heavy) ... After we have all the box (Fluxbox, Openbox, blackbox ... are undoubtedly beautiful, but perhaps too .. livianitas peeled), we have the enlightenment (beautiful, a little unstable) ... and finally we have XFCE ... may be defined as a lightweight gnome.

Well ... none of these is too useful in itself for my purposes ... then say to mix a little of everything, trying to keep the free resources processing useless while leaving the desktop beautiful dignity.

Look MED Taxi v1 - SPECIFICATIONS

Programs used (aggregated)

habak - Wallpaper
xonclock - clock applet that consumes almost no resources.
wbar - very light dock.
lxpanel - taskbar, menu, notification area
pcmanfm - I've added as an alternative filemanager.
xfwm4 - window manager (from xfce)
aterm - console emulator with transparency
unrar - it is incredible that this program is missing a puppy.
numlockx - enable numlock when X is running
go-out - created by my script that provides a menu of exit (X restart, reboot, poweroff, etc)

Icons and themes
ROX - have added a theme of icons and color scheme
GTK + - + engines themes
xfwm4 - window manager theme of

WARNING

As some already know, MED Look write some files on the system .. so uninstall once installed can generate faults.

The files you write about are:

/ root / .xinitrc
/ root/.gtkrc-2.0
/ root / .config / rox.sourceforge.net / * everything in that folder
/ root/.config/gtk-2.0 / * everything in that folder

The first two files are impertantes at the start of the X so the puppy can override the system when joder uninstalled. Nevertheless the suggestion is always the same. Look MED used on a puppy bare in live mode and then if they like the nail above the system they use.

DOWNLOAD

The download link is:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2xbfewd75b9

SIZE

Nottice this .. size MED Look this is greater than the previous. 17Mb as a PET and about 30 Mb when uncompressed (installed)

15 MB is the theme of icons pcmanfm is removed if this alternative filemanager this may be reduced to 10 MB installed and everything ... I was tempted to leave it. Maybe this remasterice MED Look without these things to make it more lightweight. If anyone is interested tell me and I can make it lighter but without the PET pcmanfm and icons of the same.

Hope you like.

I attached them as three screen shots .

Jazx

PS: Thanks for the support and Droop test on your PC.

Espectacular, excelente!

:D

Pedro
