At Canon europe, you can download a linux driver in RPM or .deb formats. I guess puppy can deal with this kind of packages.

You can try to install it in puppy. Or you can extract only the PPD file (since the driver comes with some extra utilities) and copy it to the appropiate location, but I don't know if this is enought to make the printer work.

Here people repported it works with the xer (XEROX) driver

I can't tell you how acccurate is this information. I don' t have a printer to check it.
