Hi Total newbie to Linux just started with Puppy Linux from LiveCD.

Saw article on Growl security hardening. Downloaded code and version 7Zip then overwrote version 7 with the code shown in one of the threads.

I now have a folder alled growl1.0 with three files in it:

growl1.0
runpup.gif
thumbs.db

What do id do with this folder and files to get the enhanced security working please?

Simple explanation, detailed and idiot proof

In the above list thumbs.db is a Windows thumbnail database file.

Step 1
Using Windows and talking about security
is like leaving the safe open and asking about the lock

Step 2
Right click on Growl (in Puppy)
click on permissions
and click on 'Yes' (to make program executable)

Step 3
Click on Growl
