So far I noticed some unusual rox-filer /rox pinboard thing I think it has focus issue or something, but maybe it's just me:
Sometimes when I right click in rox filer it opens jwm menu as if I'm clicking on pinboard instead

I really like the green terminal font it's so geekie :P

This is an unfortunate side effect of upgrading gtk2. If you watch closely, you will notice that file #1 still has focus in ROX after you close it. So when you move your mouse to file #2 and right-click, file #1 gets opened again.

There are two workarounds:

1. Put ROX in double-click mode.

2. Use

Code: Select all

export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true

You can also just click on rox folder background so it unselects previous file.

gposil,

Dpup484 runs great, however, I have same problem noted above by dejan555 when trying to download devx. Also, ppm doesn't connect to any of the debian repositories.

I have a full installation, does the synaptic that was developed with 482 work with 484?

Happy New Year,
Jim

True, but that effectively amounts to double-clicking. The really dangerous scenario here is right-clicking on file #2 to delete it while file #1 still has focus. You can guess the result.

Workaround #2 has been a 100% solution in another distro I use. It will just be a matter of finding the correct place in Dpup to do the export.

Just downloaded and burning 484 beta1 right now. I'll give it a quick live test run and do a fresh full install later this afternoon.

Good New Year!
Just did a frugal install and it's seems mutch better than 482.

Quick test shows that:
Huawei E1550 3g usb modem works out of the box.
HP Deskjet F380 prints with hpijs installed.
Xsane didn't work with error "xsane: error while loading shared libraries: libgimpui-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
"
pgprs-shell and pgprs-setup "corrupts" after first use: "# pgprs-setup

** ERROR **: gtkdialog: Error in line 63, near token '</default>': syntax error

aborting...
# pgprs-shell

** ERROR **: gtkdialog: Error in line 63, near token '</default>': syntax error

aborting...

"
I can setup with pgprs-shell and connect with pgprs-connect, but if i made a typo and try to change the setup with pgprs-setup or pgprs-shell it wont work.

I will do some more testing...

EDIT:

# gadmin-rsync

** (gadmin-rsync:8741): WARNING **: Couldn't find pixmap file: gadmin-rsync.png

# galculator

pgprs-setup error is common in every puppy not just dpup and happens if you do not use pin code, I can attach workaround for this. Will post in ten few minutes.

Here is the patch I promised, it addresses the following probs:

1.) Rox right click focus
2.) pgprs prob
3.) gadmin-rsync prob
4.) galculator fix.
5.) Webcam viewer depends (new codecs were accidently left out by me... )
6.) xsane prob
7.) PPM deb repos fixed.

This patch is also on the dpup484beta1 download site. Here

Cheers

guys...there will also be a patch for devx later today, not that I think anyone will be re-compiling ffmpeg, but the amr dev libs have been left out(oops)

I will also put together delta files for the iso and devx sfs as well...

Cheers

ok, I see sata80 reported the pwireless2 problem, I have the same, I grabbed a log

Code: Select all

+ rm '/tmp/Pwireless*'
rm: cannot remove `/tmp/Pwireless*': No such file or directory
+ GTKDIALOG=gtkdialog3
++ cat /usr/local/Pwireless2/interface
cat: /usr/local/Pwireless2/interface: No such file or directory
+ DEVICE=
+ [[ -z '' ]]
+ Xdialog --title Pwireless2 --msgbox 'Wireless interface not detected' 0 0
+ exit
Love that wally, though I will change it!

Dejan, pupRadio you just drag a url to the url box and hit play, mplayer runs in background on radio so you only see the splash. Buffering can take 0 to many seconds, even minutes on a slow connection and not all stations will work, but with the dpup ffmpeg many should. The idea of the Play Now button is to test a url and if it works you have the choice to replace any of the presets or save as a bookmark. Of course you would keep your most favoured stations as presets because they are only 1 click away.

HTH

Nice work Guy :)

Cheers

No worries, I'll have a peek behind the scenes in dpup and stardust, because stardust has pwireless2 as well, failing that I'll ask jemimah.
