Here is some additional software that I mentioned and described in the Puppy manual at www.puppylinux.org.
How to install:
1. Download the file to /root
2. Open a shell and enter: md5sum filename
3. Check the md5sum
4. Enter at the shell: tar xzvf filename.tar.gz -C /
5. If you installed locate_4.4.0.tar.gz you have to enter the following command: ln -s /bin/find /usr/bin/find
