Subtitleeditor 0.21.1

#1 Post by futurnet »

The program and all the library are taken from debian lenny repository, and then I make a pet.
I tested it on puppy 431 and work properly.
If you want load also the video you need to have a full installation of Gstreamer (of course not included in my pet). I prefere to load the video in Gxine and use subtitleeditor just only for edit the subtitle traslation.
GStreamer installatiion make puppy too much fat.

Thanks for putting the link for the pet here

I tried it with Gstreamer and had a lot of problems - and as you mentioned it made my puppy also very fat.

With Gstreamer going I now have running videos right there to help with making of subtitles.

I found this thread helpful for getting Gstreamer
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=21449

You also need liboil to get Gstreamer to work. (also available on above thread)

Running subtitleeditor from the console there are still a lot of error messages from Gstreamer - I guess even the Gstreamer pets from the above mentioned thread are somewhat incomplete.

Anyway it appears to work
Thanks

Yes paulski, I tried gstreamer too, but is so heavy, but if you wish there is another subtitle editor you can use even better of this one, called aegisub, here you can get a binary build

http://greg.geekmind.org/aegisub-build/

so you don't need to compile yourself, but don't work in puppy 431 or older, cause it need a newer glib version.
You can use dpup for running with success this program.
