MyWolfe-009 Subject description: has dosbox and dosmenu built in |
|
Hi All
I found that I had not but in the right xserver for 008 so fixed that in the 009 package. I have also added the dosbox and put in dosmenu to let those who just want to put in an old dos game and play. you will find that it has the SDL libs and other code to help out the dos box program.
Did not put in a multimedia program some said it needs gxine other mplyaer
others vlc and so on so decided to let each chose his or her own.
So get it here
http://mywolfe.googlecode.com/files/MyWolfe-tpup-009.iso
the md5 file is here
http://mywolfe.googlecode.com/files/MyWolfe-tpup-009.iso.md5.txt
devx sfs is here
http://mywolfe.googlecode.com/files/MyWolfe-tpup_devx_009.sfs
and the md5 for the devx is here
http://mywolfe.googlecode.com/files/MyWolfe-tpup_devx_009.sfs.md5.txt
I was hoping to upgrade the Google-chrome but there is a very bad issue with the lasted dev release so we will have to wait a bit.
edited: to give credit where do nsh found the fix but I did some digging after tying it.
One thing to mention I did get google-chrome to boot without a save file but had to hide the sandbox file, once you have decided you like it and to make a save file move it out of the folder maked /opt/google/chrome/sandbox to the /opt/google/chrome folder. it is part of the securety check that googl-chrome uses but it may affect windows more than Linux, but that is still up in debate.

MyWolfe009 Subject description: Starting Problem |
|
I have installed Mywolfe009 in my computer ( full HD Install) However, I regret to inform you that I am not able to use Mywolfe due to problem while rebooting (Ist time boot) after installation. It asks Keyboard layout, however, it does not accept default keyboard i.e US Keyboard. Therefore, the same is not booting. I feel Keyboard entry is not possible at this stage ? or hangs. This has been noticed in Quirky 003 onwards. Kindly look into this problem.

Hi, grumpywolfe.
I had a look at it, but I think I'll stick with version 0.08 for now. I have augmented version 0.08 with the full Xorg 1.7.1 suite from the repository already, and I really like that it has Xine in it, whereas v. 0.09 does not have a media suite at all.
Also, I do not have the time right now to rebuild another production puplet. My 0.08 has now OpenOffice 3.2 integrated, etc. I need to concentrate on work now, not the hobby, and the previous "mywolfe" is ready for that.
But keep up the good work, this is only a personal situation. If someone has the time and the interest, i'll say go ahead and build a personal system on mywolfe. It's a very solid puplet, very customizable, and the dev package works, too!
All the best. BFN.

Thanks for continuing to improve and tweak your MyWolfe concept. I know it requires time and effort, and thereby we benefit from it.

Thanks.
As for me, I've found a media player that works well in mywolfe.008. Perhaps it can do as well in v. 009?

The standard Puppy gimp 2.40rc3 .pet does not work in MyWolfe-008; I have posted an .sfs which updates the dependencies and does work, announcement here, I would like to know if this .sfs also works in MyWolfe-009 (no time to try it myself). Chrome rendering speed appears to have benefitted also, from the .sfs's libjpeg7, many X library, and gtk+ upgrades.
