Computer for my Puppy

#1 Post by John_C »

Time has come to give my Puppy a home of it's own.
I could use a laptop, or a micro-mini, but I stumbled on this ASUS C3 that uses a VIA CPU:

Pretty small and "almost" silent. I don't do the multi-media thing -- would it be fast enough?
I am planning on using a flash drive for Puppy. It comes with a CD drive and a floppy.
The price is low, and it really is small enough to take wih me, if I didn't want to leave my Puppy at home. And yeah, I don't really need it, but it looks like a really nice toy for Puppy.

I use puppy on a pII 400 with 128meg RAM its fast enough, I little faster would be nice, opening Firefox Gaim and Slypheed might take 15 seconds. I'll try and remember to time it next time, dvds play ok, I have no complaints with the speed.

If you stick 512M RAM in it should be good.
