It's not a dumb question, it's one of the things Puppy does a little differently from other distros. This distro has many different package installation options. Anyway, see this http://www.puppylinux.com/development/package-management.htm and look under "SFS modules" to see how to install this one.

I have used SFS files before, and I'm pretty sure this one should be installed. I'm using 4.0, and I downloaded from the first link in the original post. I renamed it with the '_400.sfs' suffix so it would automatically be loaded with the other two sfs files, which work ok.
My question is how do I run the program now? As I said, I don't see any new entries on the menu.

GO-OO Subject description: impress - transitions |
|
I could install GO-OO and can start Writer/Calc/Impress but in Impress, the "3D transitions" (http://go-oo.org/discover/) won't work.
(I have no problem with the "normal" transitions; those work fine)
What do I forget ?
Or does this not work in Puppy Linux ?

Try typing this at the command line:
| Code: |
openoffice.org3 -writer
|
If it doesn't work the SFS hasn't loaded. You may want to use bootmanager, uncheck the "Load all files with 400" box at the bottom, and manually specify the ones to be loaded.

'swriter' doesn't work with this SFS - the command that works for me is the one above. 'soffice' does work.

Thanks for Go-OO.3.2.sfs3 and *.sfs4. They are very good.

I can't figure out how to download the file! When I click on the "download" link in this first post, I get taken to a page with about 4 download buttons on it. At the bottom of the page is what looks like a link to the file to download, but when I click on that, I get a full-screen page with 2 buttons on it, Download and Play Now. Clicking on the Download button goes to some page about ringtones! It's just a sequence of advertising pages. How do I get the actual SFS file?

Wow. There were so many buttons that I didn't know what button to use! I clicked on a link of the filename but that didn't help.
Dingo, you want another site to put that on? I own several domains and I don't use much bandwidth, so I should be able to host that file for you.
