How does one do this on a multisession live CD - I am using 1.0.6
I tried start-utilities-root file system and got this message.

Sorry, but Puppy does not have a file
mounted on /root. A file would be mounted on /root if the environment
variable PFILE was defined.
Press OK to exit

Please explain.

The Pup001 file is so that Puppy has a place of its own on a hard drive where to store stuff. Since multisession Puppy has the CD or DVD all to itself where to store stuff, multisession Puppy has no pup001 file.

You do have to have enough memory (RAM + swap) to run Puppy + OpenOffice. Assuming that you can download and install the OpenOffice Pupget or dotpup while running in RAM, Puppy should save that session to the CD or DVD when you shut down, but I had to use the "save" button on the desktop to save the session to the disk when I installed OpenOffice in a Puppy multisession DVD.

I have 512MB RAM, but no HDD. My HDD crashed and this is why I got started on multisession puppy! I am trying to see how long I can last without a HDD Smile

I will remember the save icon on the desktop.
