Subject description: had a pupuser report paying 50 dollars

Hello all....

You all may have met our dear friend alienjeff either here or in the chat room and you all know his odd behavior

but this really gets me....

for the last week, he has been "annoying" all users that enter the chat room even with channel operators

with this message:

"Hello *user* welcome to the official puppy Linux support chat! please tell us which support subscription you have purchased: free ,deluxe, or supper support ?"

and here is excerpt from my IRC log
*********************
(01:13:26 PM) Pupuser402 [~puppy@c-98-200-252-176.hsd1.tx.comcast.net] entered the room.
(01:14:41 PM) Pupuser402-1 [~puppy@net130.186.188-170.dynamic.omsk.ertelecom.ru] entered the room.
(01:14:41 PM) Pupuser402-1 left the room (quit: Client Quit).
(01:14:50 PM) Pupuser402: Hey, I sent some guy named alienjeff $50 for Super Support. Is this where I get the support?
(01:15:13 PM) brainfart: You can defintely ask questions here...
(01:16:24 PM) brainfart: I have no idea about paid support, new on this forum myself...
(01:16:44 PM) Roin: afaik there is no paid support, but I might be wrong
(01:16:58 PM) Roin: I mean, afterall if you ask here a question you dont have to pay for answers ^^
********************
When I have asked for explanation for this "Disruptive" behavior he has told me that if they are too dumb to figure out it is just a joke, then the user "should be sent back to windows"

HE IS WARDING OFF AND CONFUSING MANY NEW PUPPY LINUX USERS!!!!

therefore nullifying. the function the channel is SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE

most of them are confused or get the wrong idea

so they leave

but granted since a few disciplinary actions of my self and others alienjeff has been providing *Some* help to the new puppy users before he started this bs

so hes not being a total troll like he was four months ago
where he yelled expletives at every single new user that came in

Just thought i would let you guys know

Thanks and you folks have a blessed day

I'm sorry to hear about that. An announcement to the entire forum doesn't quite seem necessary for this circumstance but what I've done is change the channel topic that shows when you join our IRC chatroom to specifically direct people to see the IRC wiki pages that include the rules, guidelines & tips for using our IRC channel.

Don't confuse Nanny with facts. Curious what discipline Nanny meted out to AlienJeff.

There is a place for joking around (in the last section of the forum), but playing with the heads of newcomers and noobies is not one of them. The noobies are already stressed from having to learn the new OS, and they don't need any annoyance, practical joking, or leg pulling. They should get friendly straight-up assistance, even if it amounts to hand-holding.

Alienjeff isn't really a puppy user anymore, he's a Arch Linux user. Really he's been a troll from day one and who in there right minds made him a admin? They should be removed as well as AJ. If there is a puppy chat room owner, they should be able to change the password and remove AJ and dumb dumb from admin status.

I feel quite sad actually

I quite enjoyed AJ's ascerbic wit....not everyone's cup of tea, but at least he had a spark of life in him

It looks as though he's going for the 'Wasted youth of the decade award', again.......for the 4th decade in succession.... Wink Laughing

Come bite me, AJ!! Laughing Laughing

if you really wanna know how to handle people whom are acting like fools on the IRC, just go here and look at the top posting. It describes the mechanics of the IRC troll and abuser. Also a good guide on how to deal with their constant put downs and insults..

Ah well,...think that's bad,...you should see what a former
(banned) member of the Puppy kennels (Puppyrite)...is doing
over on the Linuxquestions.org forum:
http://tinyurl.com/ybt3s85
..sad to see some folks are making Puppy look bad to
the public at large.

IF IF IF IF

the excerpt isn't forged, or a joke,

alienjeff should be banned and has commited a crime.

but i personally don't think so. It must have been a joke. Smile

I personally like AJ, he is funny and helpful, IMO.
