cant copy to multisession cd

#1 Post by barkis »

I have followed the instructions to burn the iso using Gcombust and tried to use
the copy statement so that puppy will know it is a multisession . I mounted my cd burner drive which on my system was /mnt/cdrom2 . The instructions say to enter cp -f /etc/rc.d/rc.reboot cd/tmp/rc.reboot this returned the message no such file . So I thought what I needed was to create the directory first so tried
mkdir /mnt/cdrom2/tmp but get message read only file system . Help please as I can't afford to burn antmore coasters .

Unfortunately multisession Puppy still has some bugs to be ironed out, so to speak.

I'd use a CD-RW for now to experiment with multisession Puppy.

Have spotted my mistake the command should be

cp -f /etc/rc.d/rc.reboot-cd /tmp/rc.reboot

this creates a file in /tmp/rc.reboot in ram which presumably is supposed to force the burn on shut down option but on my system it doesnt instead it stops with a kernal panic

Okay, try Pup 1.0.3
...note the different method on first boot. You have to press "5" key at the boot menu, to tell Puppy that this is a multisession CD.
