There should be a hidden folder in root. ".osmo"

If you delete the contents Osmo should start out completely fresh.

How to clear contacts in OSMO

#3 Post by Pelo »

Data in .osmo format XML. Perfect answer.
That will help me a lot. Because I manage several files, and I will be able to get OSMO going from one to the other.
Delete hidden XML contacts file as shown in screenshot

Tasks : OSMO has no import icon

#4 Post by Pelo »

Tasks has no import icon
COPY (not save ) yr base .Osmo Outside. It will be then usable by other distros. Just copy the base before opening OSMO.
Osmo will load what it find when opening.
handling.mo =Osmo.mo with technical column names
Whan i want to make my maintenance i rename handling.mo to supersede osmo.mo

OSMO : Export yr records (and import them)

#5 Post by Pelo »

A database manager is not the database. It is easier to manage (enter, delete, and copy records in a speadsheet save in csv format for importing by the SQL manager (just my opinion)
For tasks, do not export, but copy the repository. OSMO can't import.

OSMO is a database manager :
Who : Spreadsheet 'Puppies' saved as csv

When : impossible because OSMO columns 'date' are garbled when exported.

symphytum we got it ( a nice database)

symphytum we got it ( a nice database)
Today I want to present you a commercial application, Symphytum, it’s developed by giowisys and it costs around 9$ (or 6.7 €), but what can do this application for you ?

Symphytum is a personal database software for everyone who desires to manage and organize data in an easy and intuitive way, without having to study complex database languages and software user interfaces.

In fact collecting data is part of our lives, however, organizing information is not always easy, especially without the right tools. While big companies use notable database management systems with advanced functionality and tailored procedures, many people are still using spreadsheets as a database replacement for personal use, because of its simplicity.

Symphytum it’s something much better than a spreadsheet without all the problems that you could have in managing a real database such as Mysql or Postgresql it’s a simple application that can be used to create, design and manage a database with a look similar to the program iDatabase for Mac Osx.

Symphytum few months later

#10 Post by Pelo »

Symphytum few months later, with my pets entered. Sure there are other datbase, but boring at usage. Symphytum is the easier, and with some fun, for users not working, but playing with their computer.

A maintenance center can use Symphytum to locate computers instead medicinal plants
