TEENpup2010minibeta (Final) Ready for download

Originally I started developing this release of TEENpup for use on my EeePC as I wasn't happy with the choices available at time. I also still wanted TEENpup2010minibeta to be usable for all PC's not just Netbooks. I've decided to release TEENpup2010minibeta even though I'm not 100% happy with it. (More a case of my wanting for TEENpup to be perfect when no Operating System is.) Don't get me wrong it's still a very usable Operating System. I should know as I've used it for a few months now on my 900A EeePC and Desktop. Anyone looking for a fast version of Linux with a good selection of Applications that only takes up about 1.1 Gb of space installed on their EeePC's Hard Drive should give TEENpup2010minibeta a try and judge for themselves.
One small problem some users might find is that TEENpup may not boot itself up Live on a PC with less than 512 Mb of Ram. I've tried to include a good mix of apps and keep the iso under 350Mb's in size, so apps like Open office have been left out due to their size. Lastly while I'm calling this release of TEENpup a beta I have no plans to provide a final or provide bug fixes and solutions to other problems a user might face. I'm basically providing this release of TEENpup to those who want to use it and if anyone finds fixes to bugs feel free to upload them to the forum.
On future releases of TEENpup I plan only to release a new version yearly or longer. My growing family needs have to come first and as TEENpup is a hobby like all hobbies they sometimes have to be put on hold.

Download from here: http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/O ... 4760.shtml

Softpedia has requested that any problems with the iso not matching the md5sum please report them here.
Correct md5sum is: 6a91f4c5743f01dd73185fb6fdd9975e TEENpup2010minibeta.iso

Lastly Softpedia will still be hosting TEENpup 2009 Legacy as well.

Hope I am not too hasty asking is this still 2.18 or similar or have you ported it to 431 but with all the goodies you like 2008?

Well done, I approve; this will be cause that TeenPupMini2010 will be able to use sfs v3 modules (without the pain of conversion), according my sfs compatibility chart

" More a case of my wanting for TEENpup to be perfect when
no Operating System is. "

Sometimes it's better to release a Puplet and let the
fixers here add to the project.
Someone may even release a more bug free Teenpup after this.

Whatever I am sure that this latest Teenpup will be a blast.

Chris.

Dingo , interesting chart you made there.

I guess me will test teenpup then. this Sunday even if I managed to dl it.
I do frugal installs. what should I have in the menu.lst grub4DOS?

John I dl 2009 legaxy just in case. But where is the link to 2010 then?
It is not up yet?

Edit,

I am testing the 2009 today. Xorg completely faild. Most likely due to HP uses Nvidea.

I am on xvesa instead.

I tell you if I find something unusual with it.

TeenPup2010mini -- Great Puplet

Dear John:

I'd hate to be on your bad side!(':)') You've created another beautiful and useful Pupplet.
Having referred to your past efforts in a recent post in which I also bewailed the absence of digikam from Puppies, I then discovered that it came installed in TeenPup2010 mini which I hadn't tried. I edited my post and downloaded the ISO.

Edited: Deleted paragraph not relating to TeenPup.

FYI, the computer is a Thinkpad T42, with 1.5 Gb RAM.

Thank you for the great puplet.

Hello mikeslr,
For the recorded, TEENpup 2009 Legacy came with Digikam Version 0.7.2
TEENpup 2010 Mini Beta has Digikam Version 0.9.2

I wouldn't worry about being on my "Bad Side" as you put it as I wouldn't think there would be may users on the forum who know what Apps are included in each version or derivative due to the large number currently available.

Everyone has a vision of what an Operating System should do and I know that my way of doing somethings will be different for another User. I know those downloading TEENpup will have different views on it. So if you feel the need to express your opinion be it good or bad, go for it as you won't offend me or get on my "Bad Side". LOL!

I was unable to get this to load... :(

Probably due to the fact that the old 1999 Compaq Deskpro EN has only 256MB of RAM.

Is there anything that can be done? :)

Hi John,

Now I remember what was different with your otherwise very excellent version.

I have 9 versions of Puppy now and yours are different when one try to play mp4.

Mp4 has no sound while the other 8 puppies do have sound on mp4.

So please instruct me on how I can get sound going. flv has sound instantly and streaming video from TV stations have sound so it is only when I try to play mp4 that there is no sound. other than that I like your mini
