Upgrading from 1.0.2 rc1 to 1.0.2 Final

#1 Post by Flash »

Just wanted to give a brief rundown on what I did that apparently worked.
  • 1. In Windows ( :) ), downloaded Puppy 1.0.2 Final and burned it as a bootable CD to a 10cm CD-RW with Veritas Record Now.

    2. (Following Barry's instructions in the release notes on the News page,) rebooted with Puppy 1.0.2 RC1 (because that's what I had been using,) opened ROX, found /etc/puppyversion, opened it and changed 102 to 101, then saved it (File->Save.)

    3. Rebooted with Puppy 1.0.2 Final. Could see that, during bootup, many things were automagically updated.
So far everything works. There were some shortcuts I had put on my desktop that were removed during the upgrade but that's all I've noticed so far.

Edit: Anybody else have the new help window for configuring Gcombust not show up?
