How to use Realtek integrated rtl8101L ethernet adapter? Subject description: Puppy 4.2
I can't get this network adapter working. am i such a newbie or is there something I'm missing?
I am running puppylinux 4.2 on an old compaq presario rs1717cl all integrated hardware.I ran boot and nuke on an old corrupt copy of winxp and then installed on the hard drive. I called compaw and they told me that my system has an ati rs482 motherboard with integrated realtek rtL8101 ethernet adapter.
I've ran through the network wizard, several times, tries the autoprobe option, and none of the modules listed work. eveything I've read online says the drivers should be there already.

Why are you running 4.2? I would try 4.3.1 there are two special versions available with earlier kernels. One of the three may work. I am using all three on different machines with good results.
Cheers
