Woof, the puppy builder: where can I download it from |
|
Ok, if I can't figure that out, then maybe I shouldn't be using it, yeah, I know...
I downloaded the bones pet, then ran it, then ran:
| Code: |
#mkdir woof-tree
#cd woof-tree/
#bones setup
|
..and the very second thing that the gui calls for is the download page/location for woof.
? Where is that?
Looked on the woof page, it says to use bones and put that information in there. I would if I knew the information. Then look on the bones page, it directs me to the woof page; ugh.
So, where can I download the latest woof from?

I hit the same circular referencing before deciding to follow this post
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=347022#347022
However I have not followed its advice yet - let us know if it works
I notice it says Woof 4.3 - is that the latest?

I am updating the Woof page, is this better:
| Quote: | To download ("checkout") the latest Woof is explained in the Bones web page, but repeating here:
> mkdir woof-tree
> cd woof-tree
> bones setup
You you will be asked to enter a couple of parameters:
Username: mrperson (any name you want to give yourself)
Download URL: http://bkhome.org/bones/woof/
> bones download
...you can repeat that last step whenever you want to update to the most recent Woof.

Oh, sure! Of course...I go to the ibiblio site to download the devx for a 4.3.1 to install to get this going...sure enough, there's a woof right there in front of me! I know that isn't exactly the way that the bones gui is supposed to run, but I could have just gotten that download at the time...ugh...
