If my mouse was not connected to the computer, I would lose it.
Why get a keyboard that you have to feed batteries?
It also seems wireless keyboards can be hacked

It is also possible for the determined hacker to record the sound of your keyboard and by the clicking sounds work out which keys are pressed

OK here is the plan:
I develop a machine capable of multi-phase quantum displacement
(go into another dimension) and type from there . . .

If the Wireless K/B is just sending/receiving a straight unencrypted Analogue signal, it's probably easy for a 3rd Party to hack.
This reminds me of when the former State Premier of Victoria, Jeff Kennett, got sprung talking on his (unencrypted Analogue) Motorola "brick" mobile phone. He made several unflattering remarks about Andrew Peacock, then Federal Leader of Kennett's own Liberal Party and some dude with a Scanner recorded it all and sold the recording to a Radio Station . . . who then Broadcast it for everyone to hear.
This episode flagged to business how unsecure their Mobile communications were and within a couple of years the Analogue mobile phone network in Australia was switched off and we all had to upgrade to Digital.
