FFMPEG Issues & Woes

#1 Post by icyos2 »

Hi All

Doing me full series on youtube on Saluki 021 and I have hit a real issue with screen casting, xvidcap is rubbish. From trying to record just using the command line and ffmpeg I get the error message X11Grab unknown, has ffmpeg been compiled for Saluki without x11grab????

Could someone be so kind as to recompile it and make a .pet so I can continue me series please id be so grateful.

I do have saluki-020 iso. Mounting the sfs files inside it, I couldnt find ffmpeg. There is large gstreamer plugin support.
This one could be ideal for saluki. If there is more generic source available than for Ubuntus.

I think that posting request to the saluki thread or salukis own site would wake Jemimahs interest. She knows best the infrastructure of her distro. Many gstreamer casters seems to need python....I stay away from them. My small brains just dont understand python at all.

It could be that salukis repo already has one. There are several apps which are unknown for me.

Hi icyos2,

Here is a pet for ffmpeg-0.11.1.
My knowledge of using ffmpeg is rudimentary to say the least.
For the most part I relied on make check for testing.
