WISH Disc-Writer 2011

#1 Post by pa_mcclamrock »

WISH Disc-Writer 2011 is a simple Tcl/GTK+ program for CD/DVD writing and rewriting on Linux and other Unix-type operating systems,available for download from Pa Penguin's Icebox (http://www.pa-mcclamrock.com/papenguins ... l#wishdisc). Requires Tcl (http://www.pa-mcclamrock.com/tcl-8.5.6-v1.pet) and Gnocl (http://www.pa-mcclamrock.com/gnocl-0.9.92.pet), as well as wodim which comes with Puppy and does the jobs that mkisofs and cdrecord used to do.

Unlike some other CD/DVD writing programs, WISH Disc-Writer is not intended to give the user access to as many CD/DVD-writing options as possible. It is intended to present computer users with as few difficult options as possible, while being as useful as possible for common purposes such as:

* Burning downloaded ISOs (CD/DVD images) to CDs or DVDs;

* creating ("mastering") new data CDs or DVDs for copying and distribution;

* copying data CDs or DVDs (including bootable ones);

* backing up files on CDs or DVDs;

* blanking rewritable CDs.
It's stupid to use inferior software for ideological reasons.
