scanmodem.gz gets you dialled up / SLmodem

#1 Post by FrankA »

back in puppy 3.0 my Agere AC97 softmodem was reliably autodetected. these days have long gone by. so now in puppy 5.1, you have to get the shell script scanmodem
http://132.68.73.235/linmodems/packages/scanModem.gz
to tell you what to do.

:!: I seriously suggest to include scanmodem.sh in puppy :!:
or at least have some hint to it inside pupdial. once you manually start something like

Code: Select all

slmodemd -c GERMANY --alsa
you are then ready to pupdial and have

Code: Select all

CONNECT19200

scanModem.gz
bash shell script "scanmodem" which gives you a lot of configuration hints if you have a dial up modem. it checks for PCI hardware and tells you which modules to load with which parameters asf. visit http://132.68.73.235/linmodems for current up
