How to unmount hda2 from console?
How to unmount hda2 from console?
Can someone help me with the command i would use in the console to unmount my harddrive so i can install grub? Puppy is on is hda2. Thanks.
Why do you need to un-mount hda2 to install Grub -- what are you trying to accomplish? Have you read the relevant parts of the GRUB Manual ? What have you already tried? And what happened?
Anyway, the command to un-mount a partition is umount, so for example would un-mount that partition, if nothing is using it at the time. Note that if you installed Puppy to /dev/hda2 and then ran it from there, umounting /dev/hda2 could be tricky... a bit like pulling a seat out from under yourself while you are still sitting on it
