I'm not completely sure about this though.playdayz wrote:Pwireless2 is also in Puppy Package Manager under Network. The "Pwireless2 .pet" seems to be very stable on the different 5.1

While I don't lose the connection using Pwireless2 on 5.1; sometimes
while navigating the forum I will get "timeouts" (trying to find murga, etc).
Switching to a different Puppy, the forum will seem to be okay again.
Weird.
Inspiron 700m, Pent.M 1.6Ghz, 1Gb ram.
Msi Wind U100, N270 1.6>2.0Ghz, 1.5Gb ram.
Eeepc 8g 701, 900Mhz, 1Gb ram.
Full installs
Have uploaded newer versions of some of the audio pets I made a while back, including MusE and Rosegarden.
In Firefox, it might be worthwhile to go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Settings -> No Proxy (that was from memory--similar setting in seamonkey. While I don't lose the connection using Pwireless2 on 5.1; sometimes

But how does one install such a package, while not having a connection?
Quite difficult, as I tried it to no avail.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

I have timeouts on the forum as well. I think it isn't related to the connection, but to the forum server.rjbrewer wrote:I'm not completely sure about this though.playdayz wrote:Pwireless2 is also in Puppy Package Manager under Network. The "Pwireless2 .pet" seems to be very stable on the different 5.1

Pwireless
The only thing I see is the double connection icon.
I don't seem to have problems otherwise.

Nope the flash player runs the swf which downloads the flv which is a container for the video and audio and the metadata, etc.Stripe wrote:still cant find a swf (flash codec) to play directly from the browser, it looks like the flash plugin is used to convert the swf file to flv.

Puppy community-
i have been using Puppy for several years- most
recently on an everex stepnote laptop. Puppy is the
only linux distro that ever worked well with the weird
VIA chipset in the stepnote.
Lucid Puppy 5.1 is the best release yet, and it keeps this
1.5 ghz processor / 1.5 gb memory raging powerhouse alive.
the headphone output finally works! before, i was using
a usb audio adapter and the "multiple sound card option" in 4.3.1.
the Opera browser also works amazingly well on this system.
you developer types are amazing.

Thanks Stu! Really appreciate the free gift my friend!
Next is to find the time between all the testing going on to install it and play around, right? LOL! Can we somehow apply to the United Nations to increase the hours of the day so that we can have more time for all this FUN?!
Keep up the fab work every 1!
