The "Pwireless2 .pet" seems to be very stable on the different 5.1
versions I'm testing;

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 58&t=48816
Pwireless2 is also in Puppy Package Manager under Network.

I'm not completely sure about this though.
While I don't lose the connection using Pwireless2 on 5.1; sometimes
while navigating the forum I will get "timeouts" (trying to find murga, etc).
Switching to a different Puppy, the forum will seem to be okay again.

Weird.

Inspiron 700m, Pent.M 1.6Ghz, 1Gb ram.
Msi Wind U100, N270 1.6>2.0Ghz, 1.5Gb ram.
Eeepc 8g 701, 900Mhz, 1Gb ram.
Full installs

Thanks for the help

Isn't the Pwireless2 that comes with 5.1 the same version as the Pwireless2.pet

Also I configure both Network Wizard and Pwireless2 will they conflict with each other?

At least they have conflicted. You should delete all saved profiles from network wizard before using pwireless2. But you can check from pwireless2 pet thread what is status now.

Have uploaded newer versions of some of the audio pets I made a while back, including MusE and Rosegarden. :)

In Firefox, it might be worthwhile to go to Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Settings -> No Proxy (that was from memory--similar setting in seamonkey.

Very true.
But how does one install such a package, while not having a connection?
Quite difficult, as I tried it to no avail.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

I have timeouts on the forum as well. I think it isn't related to the connection, but to the forum server.

Pwireless
The only thing I see is the double connection icon.
I don't seem to have problems otherwise.

Nope the flash player runs the swf which downloads the flv which is a container for the video and audio and the metadata, etc.

5.1 Lupu

#2099 Post by jpop12 »

Puppy community-

i have been using Puppy for several years- most
recently on an everex stepnote laptop. Puppy is the
only linux distro that ever worked well with the weird
VIA chipset in the stepnote.
Lucid Puppy 5.1 is the best release yet, and it keeps this
1.5 ghz processor / 1.5 gb memory raging powerhouse alive.
the headphone output finally works! before, i was using
a usb audio adapter and the "multiple sound card option" in 4.3.1.
the Opera browser also works amazingly well on this system.

you developer types are amazing.

Thanks Stu! 8) Really appreciate the free gift my friend!

Next is to find the time between all the testing going on to install it and play around, right? LOL! Can we somehow apply to the United Nations to increase the hours of the day so that we can have more time for all this FUN?! :D

Keep up the fab work every 1!

Cheers!

Curious where sysctl config setting are stored. I don't see any /etc/sysctl.conf file.

Barry is doing some bug killing to some of the base programs in Puppy. They are posted in his blog. Not sure if you have seen them. Some look like they could be dealing with Intel video problems.

Do yourself a favour and contact either smokey01 or russoodle for an ftp account. They are great Puppy supporters and their services are top notch.

Cheers mate.
