Could somebody make a pet out of the Calibre Ebook software. They have a linux version but I am unable to get it running.

There is a free ebook reader that I got from

and installed on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04
but I like FBREADER better.

Yes, I think FBReader is fantastic, and will read Mobipocket *.prc files, including rss feeds. Simply put prc files in one directory, add them to the FBReader library, and when you copy over the prc files, they remain intact in the library, since the file names remain the same.

You can use Calibre Portable through Wine, after installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, included in Calibre Portable.
