Legacy OS bugs

#1 Post by oligin10 »

Hi John, just downloaded and fired up Legacy OS. Looks great! Still having problem with video playback. Kaffeine plugin won't play mpeg-4 format. Just checking if you know of a solution for this. I go to "insideline" for my automotive news, and they use mpeg-4 for videos. Had this problem in TeenPup Mini 2010, but didn't check to see exactly what was causing the problems. Opened Opera, typed opera:plugins, and it does not show any mpeg-4 format being able to be played. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks, Rob

:D Hello,
You must "open with" a media player, ie gxine or mplayer..
In your screenshot it is set to "open with- other application"
Change that to your media player...
Close the Windows, and open your eyes, to a whole new world

Hi, thanks for the tip. I am pretty sure I already did that, but I will try again when I get home. I will post my results then. Thanks again, Rob

Could be me not intelligent enough to get how one set it up.

But Quirky and Lupu just worked on all my machines with sound.

Hi Nooby, I think after you run alsa setup, you need to right-click on retrovol (in task bar). Open up bottom item (full config window?), and then check box for master control and move volume where you need it. I had same problems on my setup. Thanks, Rob

I trust you on this description. Will take a while. Just now I ahve other projects so not sure when I test it at all.

But hopefully it does help all others that are like me.
No way me would even have been able to think of doing such things.

I do know that program does exists but have never needed to open it up.

Quirky and LupQ just works out of the box on all my three machines so no need for either Alsa nor Retrovol ever.

Thanks indeed for taking time tellin us this info.
