hi
help. Just created a USB flash boot drive manually, using the instructions here:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=54826
it boots puppy no problem.
i then installed xfce and wine, from the puppy package manager.
i can see all standard wine apps in the puppy menus.
but no wine apps work at all, in either jwm or xfce.
hmm, just noticed i cannot run terminal from the menu, help menu item does nothing, leafpad (which i installed from puppy package mgr) was not working from the menu or xfce panel, but then both worked again after i reinstalled leafpad which i installed from puppy package mgr. Cannot even run x win switcher to switch to jwm.
is xfce just not well-integrated with puppy? Too bad, i think it's the sweetest, most user-friendly windower.
running on asus eeepc.
what can i do?
thanks!
Wine Not Working On New Lucid USB
Using Lucid Puppy 5.2.8-004
Tried the basic setup you have.
No problem with Wine of XFCE.
Suggest remove reinstall of Wine and XFCE.
May have better results getting Wine from here.

Save file size could be an issue. Too small.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.

Agreed. Save file size might be too small.bigpup wrote:Using Lucid Puppy 5.2.8-004

If u never used a save file (like me), then its probably your ram is too small.
Puppy is my first, and probably last, linux
the most newbie friendly linux - puppy linux

Yeah, it was a problem for me because I wanted a very big space for wine.Darkgame wrote: Save file size could be an issue. Too small.
Rather than enlarge the save file, I made a 2GB flat file for wine and after formatting it ext3 I mounted it at /root/.wine
(in the chance anyone is interested I posted this)
