CUPs Unix printing

#1 Post by Guest »

If this is included flame & kill me,

But having just set this up on a Laptop and a hacked Linksys NSLU2 it's been so easy to setup a printer, locally on the NSLU2 as a raw, uses no filters, and shared via Samba for Win9x and via IPP for Linux and I believe XP and Win2k. Nice web based setup and it works.

Once again I used Slackware-9.1

packages required
cups-1.1.19
espgs-7.05.6
gimp-print-4.2.7 (from slak 10.1)
gnu-gs-fonts-6.0

Now I got it working on slak I'll try and hack it into puppy and see what happens

Hey

Sounds pretty cool to me ... I think there are people out there wanting to get the Samba sharing stuff working as it is, to a) get puppy to anounce itself on the network neighborhood, and to b) to get puppy to serve files and printers.

So far from being flamed you work will be very much in demand ;-)

Cheers
