I just got Puppy 5.2.5 working on my rebuilt system and it went pretty smooth but I've got one problem I haven't cracked yet.
I'm running the AMD 760G integrated video and that uses that ATI Catalyst control center. When I make changes (1152x864) the changes disappear on reboot. The system comes up with a resolution of 640x480.
How do I go about making the changes persistent?
(Solved) Resolution changes don't persist

I'm not sure where to point you, except to ask for more info about your install. Is it a full or frugal install? What hardware are you running?
How did you get the proper resolution setup? Did it come up right from live cd?
Try running xorgwizard.
Press ctrl, alt, backspace
That will take you to a commandline.
Type xorgwizard and follow the prompts to select your desired resolution. to restart X after running the xorgwizard, if it doesn't start automatically, type xwin
See if that's right then. Reboot. Let us know what happens

Full install.
AMD Athlon II X2 640
2 gig of DDR3
500 gig hard drive
Biostar motherboard with on-board video which I'm using
Ok, I exited to X and got the prompt but when I tried to start xorgwizard nothing happened. So I tried to restart X with "xwin", also nothing happened. Finally I just hit reset and that got me back to the 640x480 resolution. I fired up the ATI control center and reset my resolution.

The problem appears to be solved.
After running the Catalyst control center, which came with the ATI drivers and resetting my resolution, I fired up Setup > Xorg Video Wizard and selected "Resolution Changer", hit "OK" and when the Xorg Resolution Changer dialog popped up clicked "Permanent".
That did it. I've rebooted twice just to be sure.
Thanks for responding. That helped to keep me chipping away at the problem.
