Better Way to Find Puplets?
Better Way to Find Puplets?
Love Puppy and it's great that people are giving back and making custom flavors. But it's not easy or quick to find the puplet you're looking for. Unless I'm missing something the best (only) way to find a puplet is to go through the blog style listing which I think is not very intuitive. I'm useless as far as the more technical aspects of developing a Linux distro but I can definitely help with making a better grid/matrix style listing of available puplets in PHP and MySQL. If there is an admin in charge of things like this please feel free to contact me about working on something like this if the community would find something like this useful.
these two are probably your best bet:

lobster has very limited choosing a pup flowchart/image somewhere.
check the "View posts since last visit" section at top right of this forum to see which pups are in active development and popular.

For puppy users I started working on puppy chooser using Notecase. This would be good to develop but I simply don't have time.

remember that the wikka is essentially a php/mysql database without the mysql database, and is able to be edited when you get a login so contribution there is an option.
there is also http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=51109 which goes to
http://www.editgrid.com/noyb/admin/test where
someone has rudimentary start to puplets. if you want to be spreadsheet admin getting your own is as simple as getting a login with your email address at the site origin.
my recommendation would be assisting raffy at the wikka and thus keeping things in one place. contact raffy by private message on this forum or at his email at the wikka signup
