Yes I did try the S20 driver, but was getting the same problem

tried the T20 and T21 as well (same printer just different markets I think)

I know with "Asunder CD ripper" I had to reinstall that from a pet before it would work properly.

We still don't know if the problem is Gutenprint 5.2.5 or Lupu's particular implementation of 5.2.5.

If you want, here is one more test. Go here and try this gutenprint-5.2.5-i486.pet.

Installed 5.2.5 the same as 5.2.3 and back to the original problem
tried with the S20 driver as well,

reinstall 5.2.3 and everything is working again

Looks like 5.2.5 is causing the problem, do you think?

It sounds like it.

I looked at the Gutenprint developers' mailing list and there was one report of trouble with an S21, but there weren't any details.

It's good to know that reverting to 5.2.3 may solve some problems.
