cannot get this to run opengl or any kind of 3d acceleration, I tried xorg and vesa and nothing works, ive been trying to play Assult Cube and im getting like 1 frame every 5 seconds with everything at the lowest settings, when I try to run it at 1078, it crashes completely and falls back to console and I have to "startx" all over again, , I know my machine is old, but its 3ghz Socket 775, so its not THAT old, lol, and I know this thing is capable of countr strike /quake III /Unreal level y2k FPS, coz it does so just fine in XP, but something isnt right, any suggestions? Antinspect comes up blank with no animation or FPS, also the following information. Note the Rubix cube 3d game works fine.

GLXINFO
direct rendering: YES
OpenGL vender string: DRI R300 Project
OpenGL renderer string: Meda DRI R300 20060815 x86/MMX/SSE2 NO-TCL

http://puppyisos.org/isos/2009-01-to-06 ... 5.1-01.pet

-------------------

Well the update went smoothly, hmm, maybe its just this game thats crappy, nope. ALL OPEN GL GAMES TAKE ME TO A BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH AND I HAVE TO REBOOT, WHAT THE HECK IS WITH LINUX AND CRAPPY ATI DRIVERS?????

This has Xorg-High-GLX for Radeon and Intel cards.
Wait till tomorrow; version 214 will be out.

Yeah this is driving me nuts, Anything that requries acceleration just goes right to a black screen. ATI drivers are useless because they ask for some version check, I dunno man, I think ill just get an Nvidia card and call it good.

Tell me, can I install this on its own coz I really dont wanna do a fresh install, also I didnt notice any "update" options in puppy, am I missing it?

Update from 4.xx to 5.xx would not be possible.

The 4.xx and new 5.xx series are quite different.

Luci-214 also called Lupu-503
