Touchpad not working on Toshiba Satellite C650D
Apparently this problem is a known bug in puppy 5.1.1. Here's the fix--
The fix is to run the Xorg Wizard from the menu. Menu>setup>xorg video wizard. This forces the Synaptics driver to load properly. Afterward, you can configure your touchpad using Flsynclient, menu>desktop>desktop settings>Flsynclient. to get better control of your touchpad.
I tried it and it worked.

Oh no!!keilor wrote:I have a new Toshiba Satellite C650D but the touchpad does not work. [...]
It's behaving as if there is no touchpad.
Just to prevent this from happening to others. Had the same issue on an Acer Travelmate 2300. Installed Puppy Linux Wary 5.3 and the touchpad was dead.
The solution ... Fn + F7 unlocks the touchpad!
Didn't see it because the labels on the keys were worn out. Somehow, installing Wary leads to the lock to be activated on this acer.
