Hi puppy linux people!!. Im currently using puppy 4.3.1, it's great!! i just make a few changes like compile my own kernel, install some stuff and change some files. Now i wondering about... It's possible to change the base software that comes with puppy linux? I mean. As example uninstall Abiword from the system?.. Im trying deleting manually the files and editing the menu file but.. it's the right way?. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PD: Sorry for my terrible english! (Im argentine)
Or there is doing it manually. By looking inside PET(S) of the apps you want to remove. (They are .tar.gz archives. To add support for PET in Xarchive. Update your Xarchive wrappers with mine: Puppy Linux Discussion Forum :: View topic - Improving The Wrappers From Xarchive) and deleting the appropriate files form the "***-***.sfs" (.E.G. "pup-431.sfs") by mounting it (Just click on it to do that.). then copying all the files in it on to a Linux formatted drive/partition then do the editing and finally rebuilding it with the command "dir2sfs". If a app has a menu entry then you will need to remove the line for it from the file "/root/.jwmrc" as well as removing it's ".desktop"file from /usr/share/applications/ (This you should have done any way as it will be in the PET of the package you are removing.) _________________ adobe flash is rubbish!
