NixNote2 (2.0beta6) SFS For X-Tahr 1b3

#1 Post by starhawk »

EverNote is a cloud-based software application and service, which lets one take 'notes' from dang near anything, combine them into 'notebooks', and 'tag' those notes (which effectively cross-links them). A note can be anything from text to image to video to hyperlink to ... well, basically anything a computer can understand -- or any set or combination of those things.

It's sort of a cross between that very powerful but old old old Mac program, HyperCard (remember that?) and a library card catalog type system. You can organize and plan just about anything with EverNote, from a book to a PhD dissertation to a screenplay.

Unfortunately, EverNote doesn't believe in The Power Of The Penguin, and refuses to provide a native Linux client for their service, claiming it's "too difficult" (ha!). There are a couple of third-party clients for us more enlightened folks... literally. They are EverPad (which is based on Python) and NixNote, formerly known as NeverNote.

The SFS in this post is for NixNote and provides all libs and symlinks for it to run in X-Tahr 1b3, which is what I'm using as of the time of making this SFS.

You can *possibly* get away with using this SFS with TahrPup 6.0.2 and maybe even TahrPup 6.0 -- but know that those configurations are neither tested nor encouraged. You are on your own at that point. (Doubly so, if you want to use it in say Slacko or something that isn't even Tahr-based.)
