Subject description: Sound recorder and editor

The folder -=Audacity=- must be in the -=tmp=- folder if you want to use the -=Install-Audacity.sh=- installation script.
Quote:

Install-Audacity.sh
Code:

#!/bin/bash
cd /tmp/Audacity ;
rpm -i audacity-1.3.5-0.5.beta.el5.ccrma.i386.rpm ;
rpm -i jack-audio-connection-kit-0.116.1-6_1.el5.i386.rpm ;
rpm -i SDL-1.2.12-2.fc8.i386.rpm ;
rpm -i soundtouch-1.3.1-6.el5.ccrma.i386.rpm ;
rpm -i wxBase-2.8.11-1.el5.i386.rpm ;
rpm -i wxGTK-2.8.11-1.el5.i386.rpm ;
#and now...
echo '[Desktop Entry]' > /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Encoding=UTF-8' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Name=Audacity' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Comment=Audacity' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Exec=bash -c audacity' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Terminal=false' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Type=Application' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Categories=SoundRecordingEditingSoftware' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'GenericName=Audacity' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
echo 'Icon=/usr/share/audacity/audacity.xpm' >> /usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop ;
#and now...
echo '<icon x="800" y="636" label="Audaci">/usr/share/applications/Audacity.desktop</icon>' >> /root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin ;
echo '</pinboard>' >> /root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin ;
echo "ok" `rm /tmp/Audacity/*.rpm` ;
#Before use:
#1)Edit--->Preferences--->Directories: >>>>> remove sign "v" in the "Auto save" section.
#The following line is for me:
#2)Edit--->Preferences--->Audio I/O >>>>> choose "ALSA: default" in the "Playback" and "Recording" sections.
xmessage "-=audacity-1.3.5-0.5.beta=- has been installed."

Restart of the X-system(for example Xorg) will bring the icon to the desktop.

Permissions for -=Install-Audacity.sh=- were changed as shown:
Code:

cd /place_where_Install-Audacity.sh_is_located ; chmod u+x Install-Audacity.sh

For those who wants to download:
Quote:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/b3f0258/n/Audacity135.tar.gz
Code:

196928dcba2a0c1ac1e678779ec6d674  Audacity135.tar.gz

You can download -=Audacity135.tar.gz=- file into the -=/tmp=- folder and then commands -=cd /tmp ; tar xzvf Audacity135.tar.gz=- will give you a folder which is called -=Audacity=-. After that, you can open the -=Audacity=- folder by means of -=rox=- file manager and launch -=.sh=- file which will install sound editor. After installation launch command -=restartwm=- and you will see the new icon on the desktop. After installation you can execute cleaning of the -=/tmp=- folder by means of these commands: -=rm -r /tmp/Audacity ; rm /tmp/Audacity135.tar.gz=-

Note: When i run "Help--->Audio Device Info" this program reflects some problems which, i think, concern to OS.
