thanks folks, I'll consider this thread closed for now, and mark it as such.
@puppymartin: had already "raided" your bluefish and am
playing with it. I will have a look at Komodo.
@Lobster+@?: Quanta seems to be kde dependant, had a version of it back when I ran SuSE9, wasn't happy with it then, ?may look at it again if I need too, would prefer something that is desktop independant. As far as Dreamweaver is concerned, nowadays it puts links to required functions that are on it's own site all over the pages and I am Not into that sort of code!
@technosaurus: hadn't tried Amaya, will have a look, thank you for the sugestion.
Been using Geany for a while, was looking for something a little more user advanced though. Thought there must be something out there in the linux world and just hadn't come across it.
I've also been using ff's foxpad, but it doesn't css properly (it's not suppose to be used for that, apparently, according to an email reply I had).
Just for a general rundown.
I've taken over care and update (main reason) again for a year for two other craft websites I built and use to run back in 2005 to late 2007. In return the groups have paid a 2 year sub for me (for my own site) using Webcity.com.au's Professional 1 package. For my own "stuff", I will use something like 20gig+ as I have some 900+ Leadlight Glass Sheet Identification .jpg's and spec sheets to upload, plus 500+ Hot Glass Sheet Identification .jpg's and spec sheets, plus a whole lot of Leadlighting Info both relating to the .jpg's and associated materials and equipment we use, PLUS a few hundred Ceramics .jpg's and info pages. With it all relating to Leadlighting, Hot Glass, Wrought Iron, Blacksmithing and Ceramics in Australia.
However as I seem to have plenty
of space and bandwidth left, and after having had a "talk" with a few puppy iso developers, I Intend to set up a puppy .iso repositry (one way). At a later time and if it all works happily I shall also "do" something similar for the larger application sfs's . I won't be "doing" a full mirror as it's part of my design spec's that I wouldn't, that !would overload my processing power limits.
It is rather nice to have an unlimited allowance website again!
regards to all
scsijon
EDIT: Had a look at amaya, looks very interesting but it does need a lot of lib's etc.
, deb version doesn't work as such, even though the check dependancies says nothing's missing so are going to have a go at making a puppy package, there's a wiki and topic page for those that are interested that i'll keep up to date.
