Portable Gimp Subject description: gimp-2.8.16 works on precise, tahrpup and slacko 32bit |
|
gimp-portable-2.8.16-0.4.tar.gz (2015-12-30)
http://shino.pos.to/party/bridge.cgi?puppy/opt/pup5/
Made on Precise-571JP. Also works on TahrPup 6.0.5 CE and Slacko 6.3.0(32bit).
Document
Portable Gimp places the Gimp(GNU Image Manipulating Program) with its configuration files in a folder to utilize it without installation in the Puppy space(pupsave).
The Gimp is a large application. The Gimp makes large cash and saves new brushes and patterns consuming your pupsave.
The Portable Gimp has the Gimp code as a sfs, and mounts the sfs and launch. The sfs is unmounted at the application finished so that the loop back devices to be free. The Portable Gimp also holds the Gimp settings, cache and additionals in the same 'gimp-portable' folder, not to consume your pupsave.
Other SFS's available:
SFS with NLS, DEV and DOC:

Hey shinobar, great that you made sfs and opened new topic, 2.6.11 works stable and ok I guess? I added kaleidoscope plugin and vignette script to package too, and just now found this batch processor in this thread http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31416 and compiled against 2.6.11, here's the pet
davids_batch_processor-1.1.9.pet

When building GIMP packages, you might want to include this attachment. It's the plugin for SANE scanners.

I would love to try the new Gimp 2.8
I read some reviews about it and some actually think it's as good as photoshop now.
I don't know if that's true but it's definitely worth a look.
I hope an sfs or pet is made soon so that puppy doesn't lag too far behind.
It would especially good to have a very light OS for my old pc with Gimp 2.8 so that I don't overuse my resources.

ありがとう shinobarさん。
I now have GIMP installed on lupu 525. But it took several attempts.
First I tried the official gimp-2.6.12-Lucid.pet package on a lupu 525 full install system. It gave me no menu entry. I was able to launch the program from a console, but since there was probably a good reason for the lack of a menu entry I uninstalled.
Next I tried the official gimp-2.6.10-Lucid.pet package on a lupu 525 frugal install system. It gave me two menu entries, neither of which worked. The package checker told me libpopler.so.7 was missing but I'm not enough of an otaku to know what I need to install to resolve the dependency.
Next I tried your gimp-2.6.12-Lucid-1.sfs file on the lupu 525 frugal install system and got the same result I had previously using the equivelent package on the full install system.
I tried your gimp-2.6.11-squeeze-3.sfs on the lupu 525 frugal install system and that worked.
So I have now installed the gimp_full-2.6.11-i486-squeeze.pet package on my full install system and finally have GIMP on a system that has a large screen suited to image manipulation.

A synthèse would be fine to merge information about the most suitable packages starting from the first tools listed here
I will do a Gnumeric spreadsheet, soon.
Or a DataBase with OSMO
