Hi,

You may like slickrun from http://www.bayden.com/slickrun/1033/SlickRunHelp.aspx which includes a similar note program (with find).

PS rndNoter is lean, quick and handy for temporary notes (which can easily be transferred to a permanent location).

i installed it into my virtual xp to give it a go, it's a nice app. no luck in wine though
