lithpr wrote:Hi, i'm developing a very minor "puplet" and have been working on cleaning and reordering the menu system. I would like to replace many of the menu entries with simply a link to PupControl, but i would like to be able to select which tab is open by default when PupControl launches (ie Desktop or Manager). Is there anyway to do this?
Hi Lithpr,

Please check your PM.

Thanks

Radky,

In the Lucid 5.2.8 thread Playdayz says he is going to introduce PupControl 1.7 in an instant update.

If he does that, how can we uninstall the previous PupControl which is included in the base Lucid? Are we going to get some conflict as suggested at the top of this thread?

Thanks.

Hi ICPUG,

SysInfoBox2 is one of the modules in PupControl-1.6.6 (released last week) and that module may conflict with PupControl- 1.7.

If version 1.6.6 is not uninstalled, the SysInfoBox2 utility remains on your system, but is only partially functional. Not really a conflict, but a malfunctioning remnant of SysInfoBox2 would be a source of irritation. :)

Lucid 5.2.8 includes PupControl-1.5.4, so you can install version 1.7 with no problem.

Thanks for the question!

Minor font display issue in all Sysinfo reports -528

I first noticed this in 1.7 and it may date back to 1.6. The issue only exists within PupControl and vanishes when a report is opened in Geany. I use a screen res of 1280x1024 with standard font at 102 DPI.

Hi ETP,

The report window in the Pup-SysInfo module of PupControl uses a 12-point Monospace font to assure proper spacing of text. The incomplete display of the letter 'B' with the Monospace font is not specific to PupControl, and has been reported in other programs. In some cases, it seems the incomplete 'B' is seen only when using a certain point size for the font. For example, forum member ausvirgo described the identical problem when using a 13-point Monospace font in geany. Ausvirgo resolved the display problem for his system by changing to a 12-point Monspace font. :)

Thanks for your report.

Edit: The letter 'B" displays just fine on my system, so maybe the problem is linked to specific video cards.

Version 1.7.5 See main post.
-Added special Sans-12 font for the PupControl GUI, and removed on-the-fly changes to the user-font parameter of /root/.gtkrc-2.0. (thanks TazOC)
-Enhanced PET configuration prevents overwriting of prior PupControl configuration files. (thanks sc0ttman)
-Creation of the Ctrl+Shift+C hotkey has been removed from the pinstall script, but the option is available in Preferences. (thanks sc0ttman)
-Enhanced shutdown support for restartwm, wmexit, wmpoweroff and wmreboot in the enlightenment desktop environment (e17).
-The optional 'Remove CD' dialog displayed at shutdown is now off by default, but can be reset in Preferences.
-Bugfix: In some Slackware-based derivatives, the stock gtk-info icon did not display in Pup-SysInfo.
-Bugfix: With gtkdialog4, the MyControl fileselector did not display the selected file.
