How to set up jnos packet radio app in Puppy? |
|
i am contemplating setting up a paket node in my area and would like it to be more than just local to my area.
i would appreciate any input from fellow hams who have knowledge of jnos and are in a position to explain setup to a novice.
if this is possible, i am hoping that the ham puppy community can communicate via paket etc.
i am in upstate new york and hope to discuss this at length with someone who can advise me the pros and cons of even starting such a venture.

Hi Rover
Until a current ham comes along, I found this, which may be useful

Here's an explanation of what jnos is and what it's good for. Looks like a way to make what amounts to a radio-based internet ISP. Not much bandwidth compared to landline-based internet, but good for emergencies.
