Anyone wanting early source code should be able to find it here http://gentoo.osuosl.org/distfiles/?C=M;O=A , it goes back to about 2002.
The problem is it's in date of submission format, NO index and not necessarily exactly when created, just when submitted.
However if you know the correct package name you can enter it in your browser as: http://gentoo.osuosl.org/distfiles/$pac ... r.whatever, and hopefully it will come out, but just one package at a time!
